The Gentle Art of Quilt Making by Jane Brocket - Book Review

The Gentle Art of Quilt-Making is a charming, inspirational and practical collection of 15 quilts for would-be quilters by leading author Jane Brocket. There’s a Russian Shawl Quilt, inspired by traditional motifs of Russian folk art, a Floral Frocks Quilt inspired by summer dresses, flower gardens and herbaceous borders and a Suits and Ties Quilt reusing sober woollen suiting contrasting with extravagant silk ties designed in an Irish Chain.
Finally, a practical section covers all the knowledge you’ll need – from chainpiecing, hand-quilting and sandwiching to binding, storage and caring for your quilt. Armed with the design tools, you can embark on your quilting journey and begin creating your own personal masterpiece.

I requested an adobe digital version ARC of this book from netgalley when I discovered the art of quilt making recently.

Now onto the review. This book has some basic knowledge for beginners, but I think this is more useful and can be appreciated by experienced quilters than beginners like me. This book covers more different types of complex patterns and how you can get inspired by small things around you...This are all very 'technical' in this art.

I liked how she created the patterns inspired by things around her. eg Tulips.

As a beginner, I could not understand many things in this book, but I think an experienced quilter will appreciate this book much better.

Note: ARC received from publisher through netgalley.
